In the present era of the internet, review systems are mired in controversy. Millennial and gen z trainees tend to be sceptical towards corporations in general. It’s no wonder that trust has been lost in online reviews amongst stories of paid-for reviews and attempts to game the system.
This is something we think we can help with.
Everything we are doing aims to gain trust in MedCourse as a treasure trove of information for junior doctors, which helps us to position ourselves as a reliable source of MedEd for trainees. To add value to the work we do to provide junior doctors with this information, we’re currently working on a system to provide our users with reviews from verified UK doctors.
From our experiences, the testimony and recommendations count most when it comes from peers, colleagues, and mentors. By verifying the work ID and the GMC number of reviewers, we feel we can give users the chance to cross-reference other online reviews and make an informed purchasing decision. On launch, this will largely affect on-demand courses and provider pages, but we’re also planning to implement this in our upcoming question bank and book sections.
